When someone mentions the concept of biohacking the first thing that comes to our mind is hacking our mind and body in order to gain enhanced abilities and some sort of superpowers. The truth is actually much simpler that that. Biohacking (a.k.a. DIY biology) is about incorporating little adjustments to our daily eating, fitness, body care, training, recovery, sleep or mindfulness routines in order to optimize our physical, mental and also spiritual performance. These adjustments are often backed by scientific research, sometimes they may be pro tips shared by elite athletes or great figures, however some originate from more alternative sources such as alternative medicine, herbalism, shamanism, longevity, holistic wellbeing and various spiritual and religious beliefs. As an athlete I aim to optimize my physical and mental performance therefore I continuously search for information on how I can give myself a little edge and test these claims on myself by observing my body and performance in order to verify whether such adjustment is in fact beneficial. It is a practice that requires discipline, patience, both skepticism and belief and a lot of reading however it’s also easier than it seems which is why my aim is to promote DIY biology to help people improve their lives. My name is Dawid, my passions are martial arts, combat sports, fitness, nutrition, self-development and spirituality and biohacking. I will be posting nutrition, dieting, training, supplementation, mindfulness, longevity, recovery and natural healing tips. Every single piece of information I share is thoroughly researched, investigated and tested on myself with a slightly skeptical yet objective approach and that is my promise to you.
“Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness.”
